L'AUBERGE DE SEDONA WRAPS UP 3rd ANNUAL SEDONA PLEIN AIR FESTIVAL WITH PATRONS GALA

Creekside Retreat also hosted the festival's final "Quick Draw"

SEDONA, AZ (November 1, 2007) - The title sponsor of the 3rd Annual Sedona Plein Air Festival, L'Auberge de Sedona, hosted the festival's Patrons Gala, Saturday, October 27th in the luxury resort's Monet Ballroom. Thirty of the country's finest plein air artists participated in this year's festival, and all of the art created during the week was unveiled at the gala and available for sale.

Among the awards announced at this event, L'Auberge de Sedona presented Raleigh Kinney with the Sponsor's Award for his transparent water color "Artist at Work" which depicts the spectacular foliage of the creek side at L'Auberge. Kinney's award-winning painting will be displayed as a part of the permanent art collection at L'Auberge. Other winners included Will Tapia, presented with the Collector's Choice Award for his landscape painting "Pendley's Vista," Michael Obermeyer, presented with the Artists' Choice Award for his original oil "Dusk Over Sedona," Joshua Been presented with the Framer's Award for his "West Fork Crossing," and Clark Mitchell presented with the 2008 Poster Award for his piece "Icons."

The weeklong festival's final "Quick Draw" was held on the grounds of L'Auberge de Sedona on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to noon. The rippling Oak Creek and glorious red rocks set the scene for the plein air artists to truly capture the magnificent landscapes of L'Auberge de Sedona. With only two hours to complete their works of art, the "Quick Draw" was a very exciting and competitive element of the festival.
