JOE MOTTERSHEAD APPOINTED GENERAL MANAGER OF
L’AUBERGE DE SEDONA
SEDONA, Ariz. – September 2006 – Twenty-year hospitality
veteran Joe Mottershead has been selected as general manager of L’Auberge
de Sedona Resort and Spa, an intimate creekside retreat located in
the heart of Arizona’s Red Rock country. In his new role, Mottershead
will be responsible for directing the Sedona resort's overall strategy
and operations. Upon his arrival to L’Auberge, Motterhead was immediately
involved in the opening Spa at L’Auberge, a luxurious, new Sedona
Spa located on the resort's grounds which offers guests the opportunity
to reconnect, unwind and be pampered in an elegant creekside setting.
Previously Mottershead was general manager of the AAA Four-Diamond boutique-style
Hilton Checkers in Downtown Los Angeles’ financial district. During
his nine years at this property Mottershead transitioned the hotel into
a Hilton brand, directed a renovation and repositioned the property while
taking occupancy from 57 percent to 80 percent.
Prior to Hilton Checkers, Mottershead also served as resident manager
at both the AAA Four-Diamond Wyndham Emerald Plaza hotel in San Diego,
Calif. and the AAA Four-Diamond Wyndham Harbour Island Hotel in Tampa,
Fla. He started his career at the world famous Century Plaza Hotel in
Century City, Calif.
Mottershead intends to involve L’Auberge de Sedona Resort and L’Auberge
Restaurant on Oak Creek with the close-knit community of Sedona by participating
in local events that support and promote the tourism of central Arizona’s
Red Rock country.
Currently residing at Rolling Hills Estates, located in the heart of
Sedona, Mottershead has two daughters, Kelly, 20, and Kaitlin, 15, with
wife Ninfa, an award-winning impressionistic oil painter and graphic designer.
