L'Auberge de Sedona Puts its Stamp on 3rd Annual Sedona Plein Air Festival October 21-28, 2007

SEDONA, AZ - May 2007 - L'Auberge de Sedona, a creekside retreat nestled on the banks of the tranquil Oak Creek in central Arizona, has signed on to be the title sponsor of the 3rd Annual Sedona Plein Air Festival, October 21-28, 2007. A week-long celebration of Sedona's extraordinary beauty, The Festival features 30 of the finest plein air artists from across the country who will capture on canvas the area's natural beauty, including the breathtaking Red Rocks, through a multiplicity of media, including oil, pastel, watercolor and acrylic. "En plein air," French for "in the open air," is a spontaneous art form whereby artists paint outdoors, or in the open air, responding to the immediacy of the moment and reflecting the changing light, weather conditions, and deepening shadows.

Festivities begin with a two-hour "Paint Out" in Uptown Sedona on Sunday, October 21st from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., during which time the artists, set up at various locations, have only two hours to create their masterpieces. L'Auberge de Sedona hosts the second "Paint Out" on Saturday, October 27th from 10:00 a.m. to Noon, when the plein air artists will attempt to capture the beauty of this 11 acre creekside retreat and its exquisite terrain and create one-of-a-kind artwork in minimal time. This is an exciting and intense part of the Festival, as artists potentially can meet with a variety of environmental obstacles.

L'Auberge de Sedona will be hosting The Patrons Gala on Saturday night in their ballroom. Guests of L'Auberge de Sedona will have preferred access to the Gala. This will be the first opportunity for guests to view and/or purchase the completed works of art. The festivities continue at the Sedona Arts Center on Sunday with a VIP Preview Art Sale followed by the Public Arts Sale.
