Through our partnership with Goldenstein Gallery, L’Auberge de Sedona will host a Peace Meditation lead by artist and speaker Sherab Khandro, in celebration of International Day of Peace on Friday, September 21, 9:30 am. Every year, September 21 is the International Day of Peace, which was first established in 1981. It is a United Nations sanctioned annual day of peace that is observed worldwide, this year marks the 37th anniversary. Warring groups have been known to lay down their arms for the day in recognition of this peace movement. Sedona is an International City of Peace in support of global peace.
The Peach Meditation at L’Auberge will include a 10-minute talk setting the tone, a 10-15 minute guided meditation, and then an opportunity to talk and ask questions. It is a wonderful way to start your day in Sedona as well as to start another year with peace as a powerful intention.
Sherab (Shey) Khandro is a featured Artist in Residence at L’Auberge in September and her paintings and sculpture are on display throughout the property. She is a renowned artist and speaker, giving an Embracing Balance talk the evening of 9/21 at the Sedona Creative Life Center. Last year she gave a TedX Sedona talk on Small Acts of Immeasurable Benefit. Her bronze Amitabha: Red Buddha of Infinite Light is displayed by the entrance to the workout area and also is the crowning piece in the Stupa and Peace Park as shown through TripAdvisor and Amitabha Stupa Peace Park through NatGeo Tourism.
Guests can also follow the Peace Meditation Trail Goldenstein Gallery is creating throughout the month as Shey leads peace meditations at the Gallery, L’Auberge, Sedona Chamber of Commerce, and other locations around Sedona.
“I believe all of our artist’s pieces have a peaceful intention that is realized by the artist as they create and by the viewer when they experience the piece. In this way art is very healing,” says Linda Goldenstein.
