Sedona Plein Air Festival October 14 – 21, 2017

Artists and art lovers alike will come together at L’Auberge de Sedona on Wednesday, October 18th, for a Plein Air paint-out as part of the Sedona Plein Air Festival from 10AM to 12PM.

What does that mean? “En Plein Air”, a French term that translates to “in the open air”, describes paintings that have been created outdoors rather than in a studio. In conjunction with our Artist in Residence program, 40-50 artists from around the country will be painting the Sedona landscape with Oak Creek and Red Rock vistas. The challenge of this paint-out is the limited time of 2 hours that the artists have to complete their paintings.

The L’Auberge plein air paint-out is part of the 13th annual Sedona Plain Air Festival which celebrates Sedona’s beautiful landscape and world-renowned artists while offering unique workshops and other free events from October 14th to 21st. The festival is presented by the Sedona Arts Center and invites you along to get creative and experience master painters in action. The Sedona Plein Air Festival event schedule offers a great diversity of receptions, exhibitions, lectures, and many opportunities to collect your next masterpiece. Most events are free, so come along, meet some of America’s great artists, and celebrate their diversity, style, and new Sedona inspirations.

Walk the creek and see paintings come together right before your eyes. Artists will set up anywhere at L’Auberge with subject matter ranging from calm to rushing Oak Creek water, foliage, Red Rocks, sky and reflections, architecture, people and ducks! Be inspired by the works of art created, the beautiful landscape or just the sounds of babbling Oak Creek.
