Babymoon in Sedona
Celebrating the arrival of your newest family addition has become a trend in recent years and it is easy to understand why. It has become a tradition for the parents-to-be to have time together to continue building a strong foundation for their family to rest. Parents are able to spend quality time together and have unique experiences that may make the middle of the night feedings a little easier. Sedona is an ideal babymoon destination as there is an element of relaxation but also low-key adventure can be had as well.
At L’Auberge de Sedona, we were thrilled to recently host Christina Anstead, of HGTVs Christina on the Coast, and her husband Ant as they celebrated their babymoon enjoying the beauty of Sedona. Christina posted a photo of their Cathedral Rock hike as well as their romantic creekside dinner. Likewise, we were excited to see their stay in the PEOPLE.com article titled, “Pregnant Christina Anstead and Husband Ant Enjoy ‘Magical’ Babymoon in Sedona.
From Christina’s visit and our experience with several other guests coming into Sedona for a babymoon celebration, we have learned a few key elements that make for a memorable visit.
Take Time and Engage
A babymoon is designed around new parents (whether they are new to being parents all together or new to being parents of two, three, or five) connecting and engaging with each other. Taking a low key hike together can be a great way to bond and discuss a birth plan or not discuss babies at all. Another way to engage with one another is through a Vortex Meditation. Most of Sedona is considered to be a vortex, but there are specific sites where the energy is believed to be most intense: Airport Mesa, Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock, and Boynton Canyon. The therapists at L’Apothecary Spa have created four rituals themed after these vortices to help you create a special Sedona experience. Each session includes direction on becoming present, a guided meditation specific to your purpose followed by a sound bath to enhance your intention and a closing. These sessions are offered in our hillside Vortex Treehouse, which offers stunning views of our magical Sedona red rocks. Once the baby comes, the only meditation you will have time for is sleeping – sleeping will become your new meditation.
Dine Under the Stars
Experience dining with just the two of you – eat at your own pace and engage in conversation without interruptions. Cress on Oak Creek is a perfect complement to the property’s transcendent natural beauty and level of luxury, L’Auberge de Sedona’s food and beverage program features everything from nationally recognized fine dining to naturally immersive creekside fare. With that, Etch Kitchen / Bar has a zero proof menu, so even mamas can toast to the new baby!
Put Your Feet Up and Relax
While a babymoon is a great way to reconnect and have unique experiences, it is also a time to slow down and relax. Either sit on your cottage deck or find a spot on Duck Beach or Serenity Point to listen to nature, quiet your thoughts, and truly take in the beauty of Sedona.
Whether you’re looking for adventure or relaxation or a little bit of both, L’Auberge de Sedona is a place of possibilities and makes for a nourished babymoon. We have created a babymoon package that combines the most comfortable offerings. Learn More>>
