New Seasonal Guest Activity – Sketch on Etch
As part of our Artist in Residence program with Goldenstein Gallery, this season we are encouraging our guests to be the artists. Focused on creating memorable experiences through interaction and discovery, Goldenstein’s exhibits and programming are designed to allow guests to connect with the property, Sedona’s exciting art scene and each other in authentic ways. Explore your creativity and find your inner artist in a painting class on beautiful Oak Creek. Enjoy the fresh air while you paint iconic views of Sedona. No experience is needed as the instructor will walk you through the Painting of the Day in a step-by-step process.
During your two-hour session, starting at 3:00 pm, the instructor will walk you through the various steps and techniques in creating your painting. All materials are provided including a 12″x12″ canvas, paints, brushes, and apron. In addition to art supplies, complimentary Rosé is provided to attending guests to add in the creative process. We ask that guests wear something comfortable so you can easily roll the sleeves up. If needed, the final product can be mailed if it doesn’t fit in your luggage.
The cost for the Sketch on Etch experience is $40 per person and guests are encouraged to register at the Front Desk as space is limited.
About the Artist
Rachel has always enjoyed expressing her creative side. Her background and formal teaching in the Fine Arts helped her complete a Liberal Arts Associates degree, a Bachelors in Fine Arts with a concentration in Drawing and Painting along with a Post-Baccalaureate in Art Education. She has been in Sedona since 2015 teaching painting classes and working as the Assistant Art Director at Goldenstein Gallery.
Artists in Residence Program
A partnership with art curator Linda Goldenstein of Sedona’s acclaimed Goldenstein Gallery has culminated in an immersive art experience guests can enjoy without ever stepping foot off the property. Guests are invited to watch as local and regional artists create works in progress at L’Auberge. Likewise, guests may enjoy over 60 pieces of art by renowned artists in changing exhibits throughout L’Auberge including sculptures placed throughout the walkways and gardens.
