Al Ortiz performing at Late Night Live, September 2 & 3
A Performer Not To Be Missed
Al Ortiz is an Arizona native who has made his name known in both the local and international music scenes. He was raised in a family of music, surrounded by genres ranging from traditional mariachi to AM pop/rock radio. These influences have shaped him as a singer, guitarist and bass player, and his background has produced a humility that keeps him striving to be a better musician.
He has worked closely with Stevie Nicks for 18 years as both a touring bass player and integral creative force in the pre- production and arranging of her demos and records alike. He has also toured with Johnny Rivers and Sister Sledge, and has had the opportunity to play alongside legends such as Don Henley, Tom Petty, Mike Campbell (of the Heartbreakers), Dave Stewart, Sheryl Crow, Natalie Maines, Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, and many others.
Al Ortiz has appeared on many regularly aired television shows such as David Letterman, The Today Show, The Tonight Show, Oprah, Good Morning America, Ellen DeGeneres, Rosie o’Donnell, PBS Soundstage (Stevie Nicks: Live in Chicago), and CMT Crossroads Stevie Nick and Lady Antebellum. All the while, he has remained a dedicated member of the Phoenix music community.
