When you think about romantic getaways in Arizona, you can’t help but think Sedona. And with good reason. Sedona offers one of the most romantic settings in the Southwest, with its vibrant red rocks, breathtaking views, and plentiful opportunities to sneak away someplace private with that special someone. Whether on the trails, during a private dinner or along Oak Creek, there is no better place to create an unforgettable engagement story.

If you’re planning a romantic excursion to pop the question, read on to see our picks for the most romantic places to get engaged in Sedona.

At Merry-Go-Round Rock: For hiking enthusiast couples, enjoy a secluded hike up to Merry-Go-Round-Rock. This moderate hike begins from the East Trailhead (at the top of Bear Wallow Canyon) with great views during the climb toward Sedona over the canyon. Even on a cloudy day, the views are spectacular with expansive panoramic vistas of the red rocks on all sides. Plan on at least four-hours round trip. Don’t feel like hiking? Transportation to the top of Merry-Go-Round Rock through L’Auberge can be arranged.

On Devils Bridge: This steep hike is worth the trek – the trail takes you up the largest natural stone arch in the Sedona area. There’s a 400-foot climb in altitude during this 1.8-mile round-trip hike. With an elevation of 4,600 feet, the views are stunning and the top of Devils Bridge is a wonderful place to propose. Parking is located on the FR 152 (due to the bumpy dirt road, a high clearance vehicle is recommended).

Make your own mark in history by proposing in this iconic location.
